Our goal at Chaland's All Dogs Academy is to enhance and enrich the lives of dogs (and their human companions!) through basic training at several levels. We do this through our classes and private sessions and through community education events.
We currently meet in a local hotel conference room and community center in St. Robert, Missouri. We also meet at Waynesville Park in Waynesville, MO.
Group Classes are Donation Based! (See below for more details).
We use positive methods of training that are reward based, to help you get the most success from our classes. We have experience working with a variety of breeds, everything from Yorkies to Great Danes. We will work with you to find the technique that is best for your dog. There is something for your dog to learn at every age - we offer a variety of group classes and private sessions.
We are owned by German Shepherds and actively train and compete with them. To see a list of titles/certificates we have achieved view the "Our Dogs" page.
In addition to our own training and competition, we attend seminars throughout the year and are members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). Because we make it a priority to continue our dog training education, we can offer you the newest methods and tips in dog training.
Group classes provide an opportunity for your dog to learn commands by listening to you and disregarding the distraction of other dogs/people around them. This is a great way to help your dog overcome distractions so that it will continue to be a well-mannered companion in all life situations. Regularly scheduled group classes help you keep motivated and committed to your dog's training. In group classes, a behavior will be shown (such as "Sit") and then the instructor will work with you individually to help accomplish the behavior. In addition to these benefits, Group Classes are Donation Based - we will accept any monetary donation and welcome you into the group class.
Private Sessions provide an opportunity for your dog to be the only student, requiring less time for your dog to accomplish the behaviors and less time out of your busy schedule. The downfall is that owners tend to not schedule the sessions regularly enough or practice at home enough to make Private Sessions successful.
Regardless of which training process you choose, you will want to continue to practice your dog's new commands. Training is an ongoing process, not a one-stop fix.
Because we love dogs and we love training! We believe that all dogs deserve training and that the training should be affordable for all income levels. In order to achieve this, we ask people to make a monetary donation that is affordable for them.
Your donation allows us to rent the training locations used, to provide written handouts to our students, to provide extras - such as dog treats and toys for the contests we play, and to provide a graduation party for dogs (and their humans) who earn their Canine Good Citizen (and/or STAR Puppy) award.
Occassionally we will need to cancel a class due to weather, other committment, etc. We will no longer be contacting students individually to provide cancellation information, so we request that you visit the following website to check if your class/event is cancelled: http://www.cancellations.com/
We will use this website to post all cancellations no later than 2 hours prior to the class start time, please check this website (or call us) if you need to check to see if a class is cancelled.

We are hosting the formation of a Pulaski County Dog Training Club. The Club will be fully integrated into the community, providing public education on dog topics (including safety around dogs, responsible dog ownership, responsible dog breeding, etc) throughout the county. The Club will host dog classes, shows, and trials! The Club will also serve as a monthly get-together among all Pulaski County dog lovers to bring their well mannered companions and enjoy the company of like minded individuals.
If you are interested in helping form/join the PCDTC please contact us!
